About Dr. Joy Oakman

Dr. Oakman attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Science with Distinguished Honors in Health and Exercise Physiology. She went on to receive her Doctorate Degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where she took an active role as a medical volunteer, biomechanical research assistant, and student organizational leader. After medical school, Dr. Joy completed a three-year Podiatric Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Certification at Hoboken University Medical Center where she served as a Chief Resident in her final year.

During her time as a resident, Dr. Joy received comprehensive training in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities, including flatfoot, trauma, limb salvage, and elective procedures. Her other areas of expertise also include pediatrics, sports medicine, cosmetic solutions, and general foot care. She has presented research at international sports medicine and podiatric conferences and has also authored and co-authored several publications. She holds certifications in American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons Arthroscopy and American Academy of Foot & Ankle Osteosynthesis Comprehensive Internal Fixation. Dr. Oakman is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in forefoot and rearfoot/ankle surgery.

Dr. Joy is passionate about connecting with her patients and customizing a treatment plan to fit them best. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, playing piano, traveling, trying new food, and staying active.
